“The financial markets generally are unpredictable. So that one has to have different scenarios. . .The idea that you can actually predict what’s going to happen contradicts my way of looking at the market.”
—George Soros
My name is Pamela Krueger, and I am the President and Chief Investment Officer of Pamela Krueger and Company. I am a Registered Investment Advisor Representative of the company.
I founded Pamela Krueger and Company in 2014 although I have worked as an investment advisor for 35 years. After graduating from the University of Texas, Austin, I became a financial planner for Cigna Securities. I then worked as a Trust Vice President and Investment Officer, as well as a Trust Investment Department Manager, for two large trust departments over the next 10 years. In 1993, I started my first investment management company and have worked as an independent, fee only investment advisor since that time. My company is a Registered Investment Advisor with the Texas State Securities Board. Registered Investment Advisor firms (RIA’s) are registered with and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or a state securities regulator, and have a FIDUCIARY duty to act in the best interest of their clients.
While about 90% of investment professionals are commission based, I have always worked as a fee only advisor, independent of any broker or dealer. Unlike commission-based brokers or advisors, I remove the conflict of interest by acknowledging my duty to act as a fiduciary. As a fiduciary, I must, by law, put my clients and their interests ahead of my own at all times. The advice I give must be in the best interest for each client, and I must provide disclosures that guarantee my loyalty and care, including disclosures about compensation and fees. As a further safeguard, I require that my clients use an independent custodian to input trades as instructed and to provide account statements to all clients regularly. I choose custodians with low commissions and fees, as well as good trade execution and reporting capabilities.
I enjoy writing about the markets and investing, and I have appeared as an expert in The Armchair Millionaire, iVillage, Investors Business Daily, Investment Advisor Magazine, and Advisors Digest. I have also served as a director for Franklin Bank in Austin, Texas.
Hi, I’m Deborah McLouth, and I handle back office administration for Pamela Krueger and Co. In addition to keeping everything organized behind the scenes, I also communicate directly with clients, so you’ll likely hear from me at some point. I’ve known Pam for nearly five decades, and during that time we’ve worked together, we’ve traveled together—and together we’ve also created a good deal of art. (I was an art teacher for 21 years.) I’m continually inspired by Pam’s leadership and curiosity, and I look forward to working with you.
